Balti elected officials representing PCRM say they are threatened
Several councilors of the faction of the Communists Party (PCRM) in the Balti Municipal Council claim they are threatened with physical violence by the head of the local office of the Balti State Chancellery Anatol Harchenko, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference on Monday, local councilor Andrei Chernyi said the threats were made after the Communist faction, in the meeting of the Balti Municipal Council last week, presented proofs of illegal trade involving Anatol Harchenko’s wife. “The Communist faction gathered evidence according to which Anatol Harchenko’s wife illegally heads a company that causes considerable damage to the municipal budget,” Andrei Chernyi said.
He also said he organized the news conference in order to inform the voters about the threats made by Anatol Harchenko, who has conducted a wide anti-communist campaign in Balti after he was appointed to post.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Anatol Harcheno denied the accusations made by the Communist councilor. “These are all lies,” said the head of the local office of the Balti State Chancellery.
