Balti district electoral council fails to elect administration

The Balti district electoral council could not elect the executive bodies at its first meeting on April 18 so that the registration of candidates will start with delay, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the website of the Balti publication “СП”/eSP. Two of the members of the council proposed for chairpersons obtained by four votes. These are the Balti Municipal Council's secretary Irina Serdiuc and jurist Stanislav Sorbalo, who were delegated to work on the council by the Liberal Democratic Party. The attempt to elect the deputy chairperson also failed. However, Irina Serdiuc was voted in as secretary of the council by a majority vote. Jurist Valentina Moruz, who was delegated by the Liberal Party, was absent from the meeting. She withdrew her candidacy for the post of member of the Central Election Commission so that the Liberal Party is to field another candidate. The Balti district electoral council is composed of nine persons. Four members represent the parliamentary parties, three were delegated by the Balti Municipal Council, while another two by the Balti municipal court. In the parliamentary elections of 2010, the Balti district electoral council needed several meetings to elect its secretary.
