The national route R-6 Bălți-Chișinău, near Sângerei, was blocked by long vehicle drivers, stopping the road traffic on this route at the time of the news broadcast. According to the police, the drivers' protest is linked to the "refusal to issue permits for the export of goods".

Asked by IPN, Ina Moscaliuc, Sângerei Police Inspectorate press officer, said that the high tonnage vehicles were parked on the sidewalk during the morning, however, around 13:00, around one hundred protesters blocked the route. Although the protesters were warned about being sanctioned for blocking the road, they carried on with the protest.

Ina Moscaliuc said that long vehicle drivers intend to protest, by blocking the route even at night, until the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will respond to their claims.

The carriers complain that they cannot export goods, because they do not have export permits, which are issued in a limited number.

In a press release, the MEI said that the National Motor Transport Agency issues authorizations in strict accordance with the provisions of the Road Transport Code. The procedure is electronically performed at the ANTA counter.
