Ballot papers to be printed 7 days before elections
The ballot papers to be used in the parliamentary elections on November 28 will be nearly one-meter long and will be printed on white opaque paper, 7 days before the date of the poll, under a decision adopted by the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In addition to the names of the electoral competitors, the ballot paper will contain the number of the electoral constituency and the number of the polling station.
Each frame reserved for the electoral competitors will contain the symbol or logo of the electoral competitor and the name of the respective party or independent candidate.
Also on Friday, the CEC accepted the withdrawal of independent candidate Leonid Volneanschi from the race, which leaves 39 lines on the ballot paper: 20 parties and 19 independent candidates.
The CEC will issue a total 2,804,408 ballots, of which 2.1 million will be in Romanian and the remainder in Russian. The electoral rolls contain 2,649,976 eligible voters.
