Moldovan ballerina Alexandrina Sandu has reached the final of Dance World Cup that is held in Braga, Portugal. Out of 7,500 contenders from 50 counties, Alexandrina, who is the pupil of Anastasia Homitskaya, the prima ballerina of the National Opera House “Maria Bieșu”, managed to qualify for the grand final of the competition, joining the best ten dancers of the world, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Culture.

This is a world competition that involves also the U.S., Japan, and China. “The diaspora from Portugal has mobilized to the call of the young ballerina’s mother and brought a large tricolor worth of a winner to Alexandrina,” said the Ministry of Culture.

The ballet is her vocation. She is 14, but Alexandrina Sandu is not afraid of work and of the pain she suffers while standing on the toes. In an interview for a local magazine a year ago, Alexandrina said that reaching the Paris National Opera is her biggest dream and she would choose the black swan if she was given the possibility of choosing between the white swan and the black swan.

On July 3, Alexandrina Sandu competes in the final of the Dance World Cup.
