The chief negotiators of Chisinau and Tiraspol to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks, Gheorghe Balan and Vitaly Ignatiev, had a meeting in Chisinau on November 20. The two discussed subjects from the agenda of the Transnistrian case in the context of the new talks in the “5+2” format that will take place in Vienna on November 27-28, IPN reports.
According to the Reintegration Office, the chief negotiators took stock of the progress made in the activity of the sector working groups and exchanged opinions about the possibilities of advancing the dialogue. They underlined the necessity of identifying sustainable and viable solutions to the problems of major interest for the people living on both banks of the Nistru River.
The agenda of the new round of talks in the “5+2” format will refer to the “Berlin plus” package, namely the problem of access to farmland, the situation of Latin-script schools, the movement of units of transport registered in Transnistria and others.
