Heavy rainfalls and windstorm that hit the central and northern Moldova on Thursday afternoon made a victim and caused serious damages throughout the country. In Donduseni district, the violent winds downed a low tension power line which crushed a man while he was travelling in his cart. The man, 63, died on the scene. In Calarasi district, the roof covering the garage of an individual company was blown off, being damaged 1,400 metres of plastic pipes priced at MDL 176,000. In Niscani village, same district, a house and the school were partially damaged, and in Horodiste village – the House of Culture. In several settlements the power supply was disrupted by to the safety fuses of the power network, but the supply was resumed in short time.
