Over 9,000 challenges were filed by candidates after the preliminary results in the Baccalaureate exams were made public. Following the examination of challenges, over 2,000 grades were raised. This is 23.59% of the challenged grades and 3.32% of the total number of grades given in the basic session, IPN reports, quorum the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
The largest number of challenges referred to grades on the exams in the Romanian language and literature, followed by the exams in English, history of Romanians and universal history, math and geography.
After the examination of challenges, the exam pass rate rose to 73.05%. The number of candidates who passed the national Baccalaureate exams is of 11,844, as opposed to 11,803 in 2019.
For high school candidates, the average of the grades on the Baccalaureate exams is 7.28, as against 7.14 in 2019.
As many as 3,100 candidates have a grade equal to or higher than 8.00, while 821 candidates have a grade equal to or higher than 9.00. Eighteen candidates have only grades of 10.
The additional Baccalaureate session will be held during July 19-26, 2021.
