Awards for most representative works of literature and arts of 2018

The most representative works of literature, theater, music, choreography, plastic arts, bibliotechonomy, restoration, cultural heritage and museography of 2018 were awarded at a gala held on the occasion of the National Culture Day at the Place of the Republic, IPN reports.

The award “Ștefan Ciobanu” in the field of conservation of cultural heritage and museography was provided to the group of restorers Gheorghe Bulat, Petru Druță and building company Eurostil Construct SRL managed by Angela Scerbina for prodigious activity in the restoration of built cultural heritage. The same trophy was awarded to Natalia Golenko for safeguarding the national cultural heritage and for exceptionally restoring the universal work of art Portrait of Empress Elisabeth (1859).

The award “Gavriil Muzicescu” in music went to composer Marian Stârcea, singer Nelly Ciobanu and first conductor of the orchard of the folk dances ensemble “Joc” Vasile Goia.

The award “Mihai Grecu” in plastic arts was offered to Valeriu Vânagă, while the award “Constantin Stere” in literature to Anei Rapcea for the poetry book “When light is dimming”. The award “Alexandru Fetko” for the best manager in culture went to Andrei Lokoman, director general of “Moldova-Concert”, for essential contribution to promoting cultural values.

The award “Ion Madan” in bibliotechonomy and bibliography was conferred on Elena Harconița, director of the Scientific Library of the Balti State University “Alecu Russo”, while the award “Valeriu Cupcea” in theater on Angela Ciobanu for plays awarded at national and international levels.

The award “Gheorghe Cincilei” in the field of promotion of cultural image in the mass media was offered to the editorial group of the journal Moldova – Mihai Potîrniche, Simion Zamșa, Liliana Cerga, while the award “Isidor Burdin” in intangible heritage to Maria Iliuț, manager of the folkloric group “Crenguța de Iederă”.

A new award instituted at the current edition is the award in artistic education. This went to Natalia Corcodel, director of the national music lyceum “Sergei Rahmaninov” for remarkable success in artistic education, to Larisa Jar, piano teacher at the national music lyceum “Ciprian Porumbescu” for remarkable results in educating young pianists and to Irina Bogataya, director of the School of Arts “Alexei Stârcea” of Chisinau for remarkable success in artistic education.

“Dear friends, we probably not always realize how privileged we are to have such artists among us. I speak about those who are here, in the hall, and those who performed on this stage,” Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc stated in the event. She noted that today, on poet Mihai Eminescu’s birthday, it is celebrated the National Culture Day and this fact underlines the importance of culture in the spiritual life of the nation and its relation to the essential esthetic value left by Mihai Eminescu.
