The agricultural producers who achieved success in business and those who contributed to promoting agriculture and rural development were awarded in the 2018 AIPA Awards Gala on May 25. The event was staged by the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) and brought together agricultural producers, representatives of public institutions in charge of the agricultural sector, invitees from all the competent associations, of companies that support to these and of the agroindustrial business community, IPN reports.
AIPA director Nicolae Ciubuc said agriculture is an important sector for Moldova’s development and this deserves to be supported. This event is a platform that highlights the results achieved in the field, while the efforts and sacrifices of the farmers, who are very devoted, hardworking and responsible, should be awarded.
Attending the event, Prime Minister Pavel Filip assured that the Government will continue to offer support to develop modern agriculture that would bring revenues and to ensure the producers’ access to other markets. Measures are being taken to solve the problems existing in the field, to adjust the normative framework, to offer subsidies.
Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Liviu Volconovici said the Ministry provides assistance to those who want to develop the national agricultural sector. Effort will continue to be made to increase the subsidies allocated from the National Agriculture and Rural Development Fund and to maintain efficient cooperation relations with the foreign partners so as to extend the projects that support farmers.
Among the awardees of the AIPA Gala in 19 nominalizations are: SRL “Teoagrodor” of Balatina, Glodeni (Successful Young Farmer Award); SRL “Rom-Cris” of Tarnova, Donduseni (Innovations in Agriculture); C.I. “VED-Mar Agro” of Milestii Mici, Ialoveni (Most Successful Woman Farmer); CAIPS “Basan Agro” of Cimislia (Most Successful Group of Agricultural Producers), and Peasant Farmstead “Balcanuta Artur” of Cahul (Start-up of the Year).
The AIPA Gala was at its second edition.
