The nominal average gross monthly salary this August was 3,832.4 lei, an increase of 9.4% compared with last August. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the budgetary sphere the average pay was by 12.5% higher compared with the corresponding period last year, while in the real sector by 8.1% higher, IPN reports.

The lowest salary was in pisciculture (1,883 lei), agriculture, hunting and forestry (2,394 lei) and in the hotels and restaurants sector (2,703 lei).

The highest average pay was in the financial sector (7,652 lei), the electricity, heat, gas and water supply sector (6,527 lei) and in public administration (4,994 lei).

The data cover the economic units with four and more employees and all the budget-funded institutions, regardless of the number of salary earners.
