Average rate on new loans granted in lei was 8.63% in October

In October this year, the new granted loans amounted to 3 336.2 million lei, an increase of 17.9% compared to October 2018. The share of loans granted in national currency represented 56%, while loans in foreign currency constituted 44%. The average rate on new loans granted in national currency was 8.63%, while for loans in foreign currency it was 4.46%.

According to National Bank of Moldova data, the volume of credits granted in national currency constituted 1 867.7 million lei. The volume of loans granted in foreign currency, recalculated in Moldovan lei, constituted 1 468.4 million lei.

The average rate on loans granted in national currency increased by 0.27 percentage points compared to the previous month. Loans with an average rate of 8.26% were granted to natural persons, while legal entities received loans with an average rate of 8.95%. The average rate for loans granted in foreign currency decreased by 0.04 percentage points compared to September. Natural persons were granted loans with an average rate of 4.62%, while the average rate for legal entities was 4.46%.

The highest average rate for loans granted in national currency was recorded for loans with a repayment term of up to one month, constituting 10.75%. Natural persons received loans with a rate of 11% for the same term, while legal entities received at a rate of 10.71%.

The most attractive loans were loans granted for periods from two to five years, accounting for 40.7% of the total granted loans.

The loans granted in national currency were mainly received by legal entities and constituted 54.1%.
