On April 1, all types of pensions, including retirement pensions paid from the state insurance fund, the pensions of public officials, and disability pensions will be indexed by 7.8%, with a few exception, under a legislative proposal approved on Saturday by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. The index of 7.8% was determined based on the 2010 inflation of 7.4% and the rise in the average salary by 8.2%. Social Protection Minister Valentina Buliga said that after indexation the minimum old-age pension paid to agricultural workers will be 570 lei, and for the rest of recipients of old-age pensions will be 641 lei. The minimum disability pensions, depending on the disability degree (1st to 3rd), will be 456 lei, 440 lei and 310 lei, respectively. The average pension after indexation will be 900 lei, said Valentina Buliga. The pensions of military and law enforcement staff will be indexed by 7.4%. Also by 7.4% will be indexed social aid.
