Average monthly wage grew by 14% in real terms in 2006
The average monthly wage of an employee in the economy of Moldova (companies with 20 and more employees) constituted MDL 1695 in 2006 and increased by 29% compared with the similar period last year (by 14% in real terms). In the budgetary sector, the average wage constituted MDL 1440, in the real sector of the economy – MDL 1831.
In agriculture, hunting industry and forestry the average wage in 2006 constituted MDL 890, by 21.4% more compared with last year; in fish-breeding field – MDL 1199 (14.2%), in industry – MDL 2109 (18%), mining and quarrying industry – MDL 2658 (31.0%); processing industry – MDL 1943 (15.9%); food industry – MDL 1989 (16.8%) – industry of beverages – MDL 1602 (2%); energy – MDL 2880 (23.6%); in constructions – MDL 2446 (21.7%); retail and wholesale trade – MDL 1496 (26.4%); hotel industry and restaurants – MDL 1412 (19.4%); in transports and communications – MDL 2559 (18.9%); in financial activities – MDL 2865 (12%); in real estate transactions – MDL 2052 (22.9%); in public administration – MDL 2153 (57.9%).
In education the average wage constituted MDL 1212, by 37.2% more, in health and social assistance – MDL 1330, by 31.2% more.
The average wage of an employee in December 2006 was MDL 2191, by 25% more compared with 2005. The state employees received an average wage of MDL 1664, in the real sector – MDL 2474.
