Average grade in Baccalaureate exams is 6.82

The average grade in the Baccalaureate exams this year is 6.82, up from 6.75 in 2015. As a result of the examination of grade challenges, 209 candidates got a grade higher or equal to 9, while over 500 candidates got at least one grade of 10. Minister of Education Corina Fusu said the exams were generally held in accordance with the regulations, IPN reports.

According to the minister, the Baccalaureate exams were passed by 54.8% of the candidates. This means that over 11,000 candidates can already prepare the documents for the next stage of education. Among candidates from lyceums, the exam pass rate is 77.9%.

“The situation improved compared with several years ago. Most of the candidates who want to take the Baccalaureate exams realize that they no longer can cheat in them and started to learn. The results show that 8 in 10 twelfth graders of lyceums took the Baccalaureate exams. This is rejoicing as namely the lyceum graduates are the category of candidates for whom the Baccalaureate exams mean the end of a stage of education,” stated Corina Fusu.

According to the Ministry of Education’s data, compared with the Baccalaureate session of 2015, the number of lyceums graduates who go an average grade of 7 and more rose by 5.1%, while of those who got an average grade of 8 and more increased by 2.2%.

As regards the case of publication of the Baccalaureate exam results on the Internet, two assistants of a Baccalaureate center of Ungheni who allowed this to happen were dismissed, while the center’s head and two secretaries received a severe reprimand.
