Average consumer prices fell 1% in February

The average consumer prices last month decreased by 1% from January. The prices of food products dropped by 1.8%, of non-food products by 1%, while of services rose by 0.2%, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bureau of Statistics. The dietetic eggs got cheaper by 23.4%, rice – by 7%, vegetal oil – by 5.5%, cereals – by 4.8%, bread – by 3.9%, grapes – by 3.7%, sugar – by 3.5%, fresh fruit – by 3.4%, fresh vegetables, poultry and wheat flour – by 3.1% each. Among non-food products, the prices of fuel fell by 5.5% (bottled natural gas – by 15.4%, coal – by 3.1%, transport fuel – by 0.8%), of building materials – by 1.7%, of footwear – by 0.7%, of clothes – by 0.5%. The prices of furniture increased by 1%, while of medications – by 0.6%. The services provided by travel and holiday agencies grew dearer by 2.2%, in cinemas – by 1.2%, in public food and telecommunications – by 1.1%. The public interurban bus and minibus fares decreased by 4.8%, interstate train fares – by 0.4%, while the prices of hotel services – by 0.5%.
