The awarding ceremony of the best graphic artists of the year took place Thursday November 16, as part of the “Autumnala 2006” exhibition that is organized at the Art Center “Constantin Brancusi” in Chisinau. The Graphic Artists’ Union awarded 11 prizes in different fields as decorative art, scenery painting, critique, painting, religious art, sculpture, graphics, etc. For the second year in a row the Ministry of Culture and Tourism awards prizes to the graphic artists showing remarkable skills in the field. Ministry representatives serve on a jury for the works intended for the contest, and attend the award ceremony. This year the prize of the Ministry of Culture went to Palamarciuc Vladimir, sculpture category. Petru Fazla and Innesa Tapin received diplomas for painting category. An important moment of the festival was the virtuoso awards offered by graphic artist Valentin Vartosu. Tatiana Fiodorov (graphics/ untraditional art) and Vladimir Us (painting/ untraditional art) joined these awards. The exhibition was a presentation of the efforts made this year by the masters in the graphic art field. The exhibition hosted both works of the famous graphic artists and young people that just started their creation activity. “Autumnala 2006” exhibition marks its tenth edition.
