Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov does not exclude that some of the autumn crops in northern Moldova may be damaged by frost, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a meeting of the Commission on Emergencies on February 4, the official said that owing to the snow that fell last night, a part of the crops will resist the low temperatures. Specialists are now examining the vineyards and orchards to see if measures should be taken to protect them from the cold.
