The traditional autumn cleanup campaigns in the problematic areas of Chisinau municipality are to start this or next weekend. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca Monday said the campaigns should last for two consecutive weeks and should involve divisions, companies and education institutions, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The tasks include identifying the places where we have again unauthorized waste dumps. I mean the main parks, the riverbed of the Byk and other peripheral areas. We will invite the municipal councilors to take part as well. Maybe this way we will be able to easier find solutions to the experienced problems,” said the mayor. Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the relevant divisions to determine when and what places will be cleaned as it is only a month since the City’s Day. The head of the Green Areas Association Eliferie Haruta said that among the most problematic areas are the parks-forests situated on Florilor, Dimo, and Muncesti streets, the “Valea Morilor” Park, the riverbed of the Byk, etc. According to Eliferie Haruta, greening activities will be carried out in October in the city besides the cleanup campaigns.
