Auto liability policies issued by Tiraspol-based EDICT will be rendered void
As of 5 February, Green Card auto liability policies issued by the Tiraspol-based insurance company EDICT will be declared void, Info-Prim Neo reports, citing a press release from the National Agency of Auto Liability Insurers ARCA.
According to the cited source, this decision came following the refusal of EDICT to honour its financial obligations to pay compensations for the damages caused to third parties by the insured. The company is also charged with distributing false Green Card insurance policies.
In order to terminate the auto liability insurance policies issued by EDICT on the basis of the Green Card system, ARCA recommends the holders of such policies to contact the intermediaries of EDICT from whom they bought these insurances.
Sources within ARCA told Info-Prim Neo that in 2007 alone there were recorded over 100 cases where EDICT failed to honour its obligations to its clients, with damages amounting to about 4 million lei.
