The Department for Exceptional Situations in Chisinau and the Sector Police Riscani, undertook a series of control procedures in order to examine the lawfulness of measures taken for fire prevention in the inhabited areas of Chisinau. In the centre of Chisinau, on Bulgara Street, in the vicinity of the Central Market, a fire of large proportions took place in an inhabited area, last week. In order to ensure that no flammables are deposited, all inhabited houses, flats, garages, on Tighina, Mitropolit Varlaam, Armeneasca, Octavian Goga, Cojocarilor, Alexandru cel Bun, Columna şi Bulgara Street were searched and investigated. The temporary chief of the Department for Exceptional Situations in Chisinau, Aureliu Climasevschi, declared on Monday, July 23 during an operational municipal meeting that as a result of such investigations 44 official reports were produced regarding breaching of norms and rules of protection against fire hazard. A real threat is posed currently by the warehouse on Alexandru cel Bun 15, belonging to SC „Radital Lux”, and the street shops on Bulgară 107 Street. In such circumstance, sanctioning will be posed on these economic agents, stopping their activity. The representative of the Department for Exceptional Situations in Chisinau also spoke about methods to diminish the effects of canicular days on the wellbeing of the population in the capital. According to Climasevschi mobile teams of the public order maintenance team were provided with water supplies in order to assist those affected by the canicular period. Moreover, the number of specialised teams belonging to the Emergency Service increased considerably and Family Doctor and Health Centres are providing specialists who measure arterial blood pressure, etc. Several medical centres were established in markets in order to provide first aid to those affected by the heat and suffering from sunstrokes. The medical municipal centre intensified its surveillance activity in the field of public nutrition as well as potable water provided to consumers from resources around Chisinau. The general public transport and communications Department ensures regular cleaning of municipal streets between 11.00 and 17.00.
