Traditionally, on Memorial Easter (holiday to remember dead relatives and friends), Chisinau authorities will provide free transport to “St. Lazarus” Cemetery in the capital. The practice to offer free transport to the persons going to commemorate their dead relatives began 15 years ago, Info-Prim Neo reports. Interim Head of the Department for Public Transport Alexei Varlan told the City Hall session on Tuesday, that on April 15-16, starting at 7:00 until 22:00, 10 buses will run from Vasile Alecsandri Street to the Cemetery. Additionally, 25 buses on the special “D” route will run on the itinerary Circus – Tudor Valdimirescu Street – Calea Orheiului – Ceucari Street – Socoleni Street – “St. Lazarus Cemetery”. This route will be available from 7:00 to 20:00. Supplementary, 10 buses on the route no. 27 will contribute to transporting people to the biggest cemetery in Chisinau. The itinerary is Renasterii Boulevard – Tudor Vladimirescu Street – Kiev Street – Moscova Street – Studentilor Street – Socoleni Street – Doina Street – “St. Lazarus” Cemetery. Trolleybuses on the routes 25 and 26 will circulate from Ciocana districts. From other districts to the cemetery will circulate the minivans on the routes no. 127, 132, 134, 162, 180, 184 and 189.
