Authorities select evaluators for 67 school textbooks that are to be printed

The authorities have launched a contest to choose evaluators for 67 titles of textbooks for primary school, secondary school and lyceum students. Each draft manual will be assessed individually by each member of a group consisting of three-five evaluators selected by the National Council for the Approval of Textbooks, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Education and Research aims to involve in the textbook assessment process the most experienced and qualified teachers who would select the best textbooks and would contribute, by their recommendations, to the thorough examination of the draft textbooks that will be proposed, to their quality.

“We call on all the teachers who want interesting, modern, captivating textbooks to apply to take part in the contest of textbook assessors and to this way contribute to ensuring an educational process of a high quality in the Republic of Moldova,” secretary of state of the Ministry of Education and Research Galina Rusu stated in a news conference.

In the immediate period, the Ministry of Education and Research will launch the procurement of another 13 school textbook titles. The curriculum package for the three school cycles – primary, secondary and lyceum – consists of 197 titles.

The conditions of taking part in the contest and the selection criteria are stipulated in the Regulations concerning the selection and purchase of school textbooks. The deadline for submissions is December 4, 2023.
