Authorities promise to repair damaged building in Șoldănești

The authorities undertook to rehabilitate a damaged building in Șoldănești town, which was visited by Prime Minister Dorin Recean on Thursday. The building in which about 100 people live is in a deplorable state owing to the damaged roof that allows rainwater to go down to the foundation. For this reason, a part of the dwellers abandoned their apartments, IPN reports.

“After almost ten years during which the notifications of the dwellers of a damaged building in Șoldănești town were ignored, the Government intervened to remedy the situation and to finance the major repair works. For the purpose, on May 17 the Commission for Exceptional Stations allocated 8.34 million lei to the Șoldănești mayor’s office for repairing the roof, strengthening the foundation and walls and thermally insulating the block,” said the Government’s press service.

While on a working visit to Șoldănești, Premier Dorin Recean met with apartment owners and officials in charge of the project to rehabilitate the five-story building. “The problem that endangers the security of people will be solved. We will continue to cooperate with the citizens and the local authorities so as to solve all the problems they face and to build safe and prosperous communities,” said Dorin Recean.
