The authorities intend to create a coherent and synergic system for stimulating the return home of the Moldovans and the facilitation of the reintegration of citizens affected by migration until 2025, namely by ensuring the whole cycle of policies, services and products in the field and by implementing sustainable assistance and support services. The objective is to achieve the situation when at least 25% of the citizens will state their intention to return home and at least 50% of the citizens who return will be successfully reintegrated, IPN reports.
The Bureau for Diaspora Relations of the State Chancellery has announced the initiation of work on the draft government decision concerning the approval of the national program for stimulating the return and facilitating the (re)integration of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova involved in the process of migration in 2022-2026.
Under the draft concept, over 70% of those who return intend to leave again during the next six months. 33.8% of those interviewed plan to settle abroad together with the family. According to most of the respondents (33.7%+24.5%), the policies applied today in the Republic of Moldova do not influence the decision to leave.
The authors of the concept noted that among the most serious challenged faced on return are the obligation to self-isolate, the absence of Moldovan health insurance, the lack of a job, the small pensions and social benefits.
The authorities aim to increase the number of working people from among Moldovans who return home from abroad, who register with employment agencies. Another goal is to increase the number of beneficiaries of mechanisms for validating the professional skills of migrants obtained in informal and nonformal contexts.
