The minimum old age pension from on May 1, 2025 will be increased to 3,300 lei. However, the increase concerns only pensioners who have at least 40 years’ seniority. The draft law was registered in Parliament, IPN reports.

PAS MP Marina Morozova told a press briefing that the draft law to increase pensions is an initiative of President Maia Sandu. The increases come to support pensioners who had a long career, but have a small pension.

According to data from the National Social Insurance House, by November 1, 2024, there were identified 30,000 people with at least 40 years’ seniority who have a pension lower than 3300 lei.
