Authorities direct attention to Moldova’s small towns
The towns of Moldova become unpopulated because all the resources are concentrated in Chisinau and Balti. The Ministry of Regional Development and Construction aims to change this state of affairs. There will be drafted a public policy proposal for equitably developing the 65 towns of the county, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Minister Veaceslav Gututui said that representatives of the local public authorities, regional development councils, regional development agencies, civil society and experts in the field, including from the academic sphere, will form part of the relevant working group. The proposal is to be presented to the Government in autumn.
Igor Malai, deputy head of the Ministry’s General Regional Development Division, said that they will take into account the experience of the European states. There will be analyzed the related policies and legislation.
