From now on the attacks on the part of authorities will be more frequent and aggressive, leader of the Social Democracy Party (SDP) Dumitru Braghis stated at the Republican Assembly convened by the party’s members, and held on Wednesday, January 10. According to a press release from SDP, during the meeting there were brought up for discussion the problems created, the most of them, by the representatives of the state organisations subordinated to the government party. The participants have shared opinions about the possibilities of counteracting these problems and making the party structures’ activity efficient, taking into account this year’s general local elections. Braghis stated that SDP is a real danger to the government party, and that is why there are no doubts that the authorities will try to compromise, threaten and bully the party’s representatives. The meeting was said to be informal, as the SDP members have examined the activity of the raion organisations in 2006, setting certain objectives for the coming period. The heads of the SDP raion organisations, of the municipal organisations in Chisinau and Balti, as well as of the territorial organisation in Gagauzia, attended the assembly.
