The Moldovan authorities bear the whole responsibility for the violent riots, which are on now in the center of the Moldovan capital, Ion Manole, the president of the NGO Promo-Lex, has told a Info-Prim Neo. He has said this is the position of Promo-Lex Association, the president of which he is. “Promo-Lex” is part of the Coalition for free and fair elections – Coalition 2009.
Ion Manole maintains the authorities have all the leverage to prevent and halt the violence. Instead, the policemen deployed to the place just watch the protesters' actions and prefer not to intervene. The police could have used sound devices to call the demonstrators to public order, to surround the buildings of the Parliament and of the Presidency.
The Promo-lex president considers that the violent riots are a provocation. According to him, the protesters were separated into two groups: some peaceful and other violent. Manole believes the police should have isolated the violent protesters and leave the peaceful ones to continue their protest.
According to Ion Manole, the final goal of these provocations would be an attempt to demonstrate to the West that the Chisinau opposition have tried to take the state power by force.
