After “Save Bessarabia Union” Party (USB) on May 13 announced its decision to run in elections alongside the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), the leader of the latter Vlad Biletski said they are also having discussions with Dorin Chirtoacă’s Liberal Party and they expect Octavian Țîcu from the PUN to also join the platform, IPN reports.
He welcomed USB’s decision, saying this shows political maturity and a sincere wish to place the Union desideratum above personal vanity. “With USB, we haven’t yet discussed places on the list,” Vlad Biletski stated in the talk show “Fourth Power” on N4 channel.
According to him, negotiations are now held with Dorin Chirtoacă so as to decide how the Liberal Party will take part in the snap parliamentary election. ”We had several rounds of negotiations. They were very productive. We are confident that we follow the right direction and, when I say “the right direction”, I mean being together. There are two formulas: we either have a national list based on a party or we take part in a bloc. We are considering whether it is better for the threshold to be 5% or 7%,” stated Vlad Biletski.
The AUR leader noted the unification of all the unionist parties on one platform would be a chance for the unionist voters to be represented in Parliament. He is ready to discuss with Octavian Țîcu so as to persuade the PUN leader to take part in the unification of all the parties that plead for Moldova’s union with Romania.
Besides USB, the Romanian People’s Party also joined the politic project of AUR.
