The Audit Office will implement a project to strengthen its capacities in the fourth quarter of this year. The Government approved the agreement for financing this project signed by the International Development Agency of the World Bank Group and Moldova on August 14 and submitted it to Parliament for ratification, IPN reports.
The US$1 million project will be implemented during a two-year-period. The financial resources will be used to train specialists, for experience exchange and for purchasing the necessary equipment.
In accordance with the commitments assumed under the Moldova – EU Plan of Action, there will be created an external audit institution meeting the European and international standards. It is to show objectivity and professionalism in the external auditing of public finances.
