Audit Office president to be questioned in Parliament

The president of the Audit Office Serafim Urechean is to be questioned in Parliament next week. Such a decision was taken by a majority of votes in the October 22 sitting of the legislative body, IPN reports.

The proposal to question Urechean was submitted by Head of Parliament Andrian Candu after the Socialists suggested that the current Audit Office president should be discharged. According to the Speaker, Urechean will inform the lawmakers about the activity and results achieved by the institution he heads.

The Socialist lawmakers requested that the president of the Central Election Commission and the director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation should also be dismissed. In response to this request, Candu said that the two officials will present reports in today’s sitting, as the agenda provides.
