The Parliament has passed a budget of over 1.96 mln lei for the Audiovisual Coordinating Council (ACC) in 2007. The biggest part of expenses, about 1.1 mln lei, is meant for wages. Thus, ACC chairman will be paid 4,000 lei a month and an additional sum as material assistance annually. The other members of the Council will receive a monthly salary of 3,200 lei and the same sum as material assistance annually. ACC Secretary will be paid about 3,000 lei, and will get an annual assistance of 6,000 lei. ACC staff is composed of 36 employees, including 7 territorial inspectors. The new Audiovisual Coordinating Council is carrying out its activity since November 2006, when its nine members were appointed by the Parliament, in compliance with the provisions of the Audiovisual Code that came into force on August 18, 2006.
