The officials responsible for the reconstruction of the attic-like apartment story in Botanica district of Chisinau, which fully burned in May, said the works are executed according to plan and the dwellers will be ale to move to the new apartments in the middle of September. The announcement was made by the head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea in the July 28 meeting of officials of Chisinau subdivisions and services, IPN reports.

Petru Gontea said the demolition works will be completed in two days and the reconstruction works will start afterword. When the roof is built, the new apartments will start to be erected, while the apartments from the lower stories that were affected by this summer’s rain will be repaired. The dwellers of these apartments will be able to repair them themselves with money from the municipal authorities. The municipality will also pay the rent for the dwellers whose apartments were most seriously affected.

Deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu said the structure of the restored attic-like apartment story will be different. The wiring will go through metallic tubes, in accordance with the requirements for buildings with a reduced resistance level. The building will be thermally insulated and the facade will be rehabilitated.

The cost of the restoration project is 7 million lei.
