The ten-day road safety campaign “Attention, Children!!!” has closed in Transnistria. Over ten days, the motor vehicles traveled with the lit headlights during the day. In Rabnita, Camenca, Tiraspol and Grigoropol, five children were injured in road accidents, four of which occurred through the drivers’ fault, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent reports. The motorists left the place of the accident. According to the home ministry of the self-proclaimed Transnistrian republic, the identity of the drivers was discoverer. One of the motorists is wanted. Dmitrii Margarint, the head of Transnistria’s state auto inspectorate, said that 15 drivers left the scene of the accident this year. The road accidents that happened since the start of this year killed two persons and injured 14. The region’s home ministry demands that the punishment for violating the traffic rules is toughened up. Speed limit signs will be set up along roads in the near future, while the traffic police inspectors will be supplied with a new device – video radars.
