A citizen of Ukraine was arrested and is investigated for attempt to smuggle amber in considerable amounts out of Moldova, IPN reports.

The 32-year-old Ukrainian was arrested when he wanted to leave Moldova through the Cahul-Oancea customs post, after the customs inspectors scanned the reserve wheel from the vehicle’s trunk and found about 10 kg of amber stones of different shapes and sizes.

The man faces up to three years in jail.
