Moldova's athletics team won the 4th place in the European Team Championships, third league, held in Skopje. Moldova was defeated by Serbia, Iceland and Bosnia and Herzegovina, IPN reports.
The first place for Moldova was taken by Sergei Marghiev (hammer throw), Zalina Petrivskaia (hammer throw), Dimitriana Surdu (weight throw), Nicolai Gorbușco (3000 meters hurdles) and Iuliana Dabija (triple jump).
Marathon runner Lilia Fisikovici competed at both 3000 meters and 5000 meters. On both distances she ranked 2nd. On the second step of the awards podium there were Ștefan Mura (discus throw) and Iana Garaeva (400 meters fences).
The 3rd place has been taken by Vadim Doscalov (long jump), Maxim Răileanu (5000 meters), Dimitriana Surdu (discus throw), Alexandr Crușelnițchii (110 m / fences), Denis Doscalov (triple jump, men's 4x400m relay and men's 4x100m relay).
