Athletes qualified for Olympics to benefit from specialized medical and psychological assistance

Athletes who will participate in the qualifying tournaments for the Paris 2024Summer Olympic Games and also those who have already earned qualifications will benefit from specialized medical and psychological assistance services. The Ministry of Education and Research decided to set up a group of specialists responsible for providing these services, IPN reports.

Sergiu Gurin, secretary of state of the Ministry of Education and Research, in a meeting with the working group said that the physical and mental health of athletes is a decisive factor in obtaining the best results. “We want the best specialists in sports medicine to be involved in the process of training the Olympic squad, creating the necessary premises for athletes to excellently contend in competitions,” stated the official.

The group includes doctors, physiotherapists, masseurs and psychologists. The medical and psychological assistance services will be financed by the Ministry of Education and Research, with the support of the Association for Support of Community Initiatives and Sports.

So far, six athletes have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics. These are Dan Olaru, Daniela Cociu and Maria Olărașu, Sergei Tarnovschi, Anastasia Nikita and Irina Rângaci.
