Athlete Zalina Marghieva will contend for the fifth time in the Olympic Games, which is a record of Moldova. Soslan Marghiev’s pupil earned her qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics after achieving the result of 75.95 meters at the international tournament “Dionysopolis” in Bulgaria, IPN reports.
Zalina also set a new national record in hammer throw. The norm of qualification for the Paris Olympics was 74 meters.
The other Moldovan athletes who qualified for the Paris Olympic Games are Anastasia Nikita, Irina Rîngaci, Victor Ciobanu, Valentin Petic, and Mariana Draguțan (all – wrestling), Sergei Tarnovschi, Daniela Cociu, Maria Olărașu (all – canoe), Dan Olaru (archery), Alisa Glinka (horse riding), Anna Dulce (shooting), and Marin Robu (weightlifting).
