Athlete Olga Cristea suspended for two years over doping

Olga Cristea, one of Moldova's best athletes in recent years, has been suspended from all games for a period of two years by the International Association of Athletics Federation after she tested positive for abnormally high levels of testosterone at the European Championships in Barcelona, Info-Prim Neo reports. After failing test A, which revealed the presence of forbidden substances, Olga Cristea refused to pass test B, the final one. The 22-year-old athlete and her coach, Mihai Kravtsov, refused to comment on the subject. This scandal could leave Olga without stipends and subsidies from the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Youth and Sport. In 2006 Olga Cristea won the world champion title in the 800 m event.
