At least 130 schools, kindergartens and other public institutions of Moldova will install biomass heating systems by 2014, within the Energy and Biomass Project that is financed by the EU and implemented by UNDP in partnership worth the Ministry of Economy, IPN reports.
In a communiqué, the Ministry says that in a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova Nicola Harrington- Buhay, Minister Valeriu Lazar said this project has the greatest effect among all the renewable energy projects initiated in Moldova. The new heating systems created over 200 workplaces and enabled to launch dozens of new businesses for producing pallets and briquettes.
Valeriu Lazar underlined the role of the career centers SYSLAB (Systems Laboratory for Innovation and Employment), which were opened in a number of district centers. The centers work based on strategy that envisions the promotion of entrepreneurship and connection of specialists looking for a job with businesses.
