They are suspected of asking for about 8,000 lei from a Ukrainian woman living in Ocnița, who is the mother of four, for not extraditing her because her period of stay in Moldova expired, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, one of the suspects is a major officer, while the second is a senior officer. The money to them was transmitted in installments under the control of the authorities.

During the investigation, one of the officers resigned, while the other one was suspended. The two had parts of their property confiscated, including two lots of farmland and a construction lot in Briceni district.
