The Association Agreement with the European Union, which is to be signed in June, will be ratified by the end of the spring-summer session of Parliament, Speaker Igor Corman said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
“We will make effort to ratify this document in the shortest period of time possible and not to postpone the event until after the return of the MPs from vacation,” stated Corman.
He added that the authorities will soon launch a wide campaign to explain the benefits of the accord to the people. “Being busy with the liberalization of the visa regime, we devoted less attention to the Association Agreement, while the Communist opposition and the Socialists profited from this in order to misinform the population,” said the Head of Parliament.
He also said that Moldova will not renounce the economic relations with the CIS states, including Russia, but will never join the Eurasian Customs Union. “The calculations done by economic experts show that if Moldova joins the Customs Union, its economy will sustain losses of over 40%, while the entry into the EU will bring only benefits and prosperity to our country,” stated Igor Corman.
