Liberal-Democratic lawmaker Ion Butmalai said he will vote for the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU with the greatest pleasure as it is for the Moldovan people’s benefit, for the benefit of the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Within an inquiry held among lawmakers, the MP told IPN that he wants the quality of people’s lives to be improved.
“We have rich land and hardworking people. I’m optimistic and I believe that Moldova will be one of the most beautiful countries on Earth, not only in the EU. This is a place given by God, which we must keep for the future of our children. We must do our utmost to become part of the EU as soon as possible. We must attract European funds and improve the living standards,” said Ion Butmalai.
Moldova will sign the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27. The document is to be ratified by the end of the current session of Parliament.
