About 6300 low-income families in Chisinau municipality that are bringing up children of school age will receive a one-time financial assistance in the amount of 700 lei (per child) to prepare pupils for the new 2019-2020 school year.

According to data of Chisinau City Hall, among the beneficiaries there  families with three or more children, single-parent families and families where one of the parents is disabled. There are also families with guardianship status.

Municipal education chief Rodica Gutu told IPN that the beneficiary families have been identified based on lists submitted by educational institutions. Educational institutions are also tasked with notifying the beneficiaries that they can receive their money.

The payouts are available from today, August 6, until November 2 at the post offices.
