Almost 3,000 persons from the capital city will get assistance from the Chisinau City Hall on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is celebrated on December 3, IPN reports.
Mayor Ion Ceban, in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, said the responsible commission decided to allocate over 1.5 million lei for providing lump sums in assistance to 2,909 persons, including 500 persons with severe, accentuated and moderate disabilities with the lowest pensions, who will get by 500 lei in aid.
Also, 50 persons with disabilities who are active members of the public association “Society of Invalids of Chisinau Municipality” will receive by 2,000 lei in aid, while 845 persons with hearing impairments who are members of the Association of the Deaf of the Republic of Moldova, the local branch in Chisinau, will get by 500 lei in aid. Another ten active members of the Association of the Deaf will be offered by 2,000 lei. Similar assistance will be provided to persons with visual impairments.
The municipality will also offer assistance to 642 parents who raise children with special educational needs, by 500 lei for each child.
Ion Ceban said the General Medical and Social Assistance Division is responsible for making the payment orders. Those who are entitled to aid will be informed about the payment method.
