Assistance from Poland reached or will soon reach Edineț, Taraclia and Comrat

The funds of the Polish Aid program are allocated for containing the COVID-19 pandemic in Moldova owing to the involvement of the International Solidarity Foundation, Poland’s Embassy in Chisinau has said.

According to a press release that is quoted by IPN, a part of the assistance will be taken to the Ministry’s storehouses. The rest will be delivered to hospitals and social organizations all over the country. This week the assistance reached or will soon reach Edineț, Taraclia and Comrat, while next week it will get to Cahul, Glodeni and the Transnistrian region.

Poland has offered a number of consignments of humanitarian aid to Moldova since the first days of the state of emergency. The Chisinau-based Hospital “Toma Ciorbă” received an oxygen concentrator. On April 21, the administration of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection received medical equipment donated to satisfy the needs of the medical service.

The aid consists of over 16,000 protective face masks, about 4,000 liters of disinfectant, approximately 800 protective suits as well as thermometers, lamps and eye shields.
