All the young women, including minor girls, who got pregnant in an unplanned way and hide this from their parents and relatives and do not enjoy the support of the family, can seek help from the local authorities of Chisinau so as to benefit from particular services. The Chisinau Child Rights Protection Division provided extensive information following the recent abandonment of a newborn in a garbage bin, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Division says the women in difficulty can go to the district division with which to work out an assistance plan and will be offered particular services, depending on necessities, such as psychotherapy and mediation in the relations with parents and relatives with a view to ensuring their family and social reintegration.

The persons can be placed at a maternity center during pregnancy and/or after giving birth. The maternity center is a temporary shelter where the women will receive medical, social and psychological assistance and free food for her and her child as well as clothes and diapers. They can also attend specialized courses to learn a job so as to be able to later find employment. The mothers with children benefit from the maternal service for a period of up to three months. In emergencies, this term can be extended to up to 12 months.

When leaving the service, when the young mother gets a job, the child can go to a crèche intended for children aged four months to 2.5 years.
