The executive approved the framework regulations concerning the organization and functioning of the night shelter service for persons without a home and the minimum quality standards for the services provided within this, IPN reports.
Under the daft decision, the persons in difficulty will be offered accommodation at night, food, clothes and assistance in the social reintegration process. Within the service, the persons will benefit from first aid, psychological counseling and assistance in obtaining identification papers and in finding a job.
The social services will be created on the country’s territory, depending on the identified needs, and will have a capacity of up to 70 places in the warm period of the year and of at most 100 places in the cold season. The period of stay between April and October will be from 8pm until 7am, while during November-March from 6pm until 7am. Depending on the category of beneficiaries, an individual stay program can be decided, including with day stay.
The costs associated with the organization and functioning of the night shelter service for persons without a home will be covered by founders. The costs of the provided services were assessed at about 4,300 lei per person a month.
Currently, services for providing assistance to homeless persons work in Chisinau and Balti municipalities and in Ungheni town.
