ASM has nominated candidates for Academician title
The Humanistic Sciences and Arts department of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) has nominated, as part of the general assembly held last week, its candidates for the title of titular member (Academician) for the elections expected tomorrow.
The critic and literary historian Mihail Dolgan, historian Andrei Esanu and the rector of the State University of Moldova, Gheorghe Rusnac, have been nominated as candidates. At the same time, composer Gheorghe Mustea was fielded as candidate for the title of member correspondent at the speciality “musical art”.
During the past week, the other five ASM departments have convened for the same purpose.
The assembly of the titular members and member correspondents of the Agricultural Sciences Dept. took place on March 29. Member correspondents Boris Gaina and Anatol Jacota were registered as candidates for the two vacancies of academician. Professors Gheorghe Cimpoies and Andrei Palii, both from the State Agrarian University of Moldova, were nominated for the two vacancies of member correspondent, at the specialities: fruit growing, agricultural sciences (genetics).
As part of the general assembly of the Economic and Mathematic Sciences deparment, Vladimir Arnautov became the titular member at the mathematics speciality, another three - Grigore Belostecinic, Dumitru Moldovanu, Constantin Gaindric – candidates for the vacancies of member correspondent, respectively at the Marketing and Logistics specialities; World Economy. International economic relations; Informatics.
The Medical Science Division of ASM has designated Eva Gudumac, Mihai Popovici and Gheorghe Tabarna for the title of titular member, while Professor Stanislav Groppa – for the title of member correspondent.
The assembly of the ASM members, scheduled for April 3, will vote all the candidates fielded by the ASM departments, and then they will be considered as elected.
